 Internet stuff awesome - picture so so Aug 08, 2010
Love Netflix in the bedroom, loads faster (wirelessly) than my Roku box does on my plasma
Great function and why I bought it.
That said, I am a bit disappointed in the picture quality - I just expected more "pop" from an LCD in a dark room. Viewing angle is horrible, if you go even 30 degrees to the side color washes out, steeper angles hardly any color at all.
Feature rich - happy with that, just expected more from LCD even tho it is 720 I didn't htink that would matter much in a 32 - my 50" Plasma (Panasonic 720P) has a brighter richer picture.
Still glad I bought it, just expected more in the picture department.

 Took some doing, but finally got what I paid for! Jul 22, 2010
It is taking some time to get the internet set up, so far I've gotten a wifi connection, but no luck linking my accounts, it keeps "timing out". The instructions that direct you to certain menus is inaccurate and the manual that came with the TV is useless for using any of the features of this TV. Starting to get very frustrated.
EDIT: Sure enough I had to update the software (firmware?) on my TV by downloading the update from Sony's website and use a USB drive. NOW the TV works exactly as I expected it to! The only thing I have not tried yet is the Amazon VOD - the movies show up but I haven't purchased one yet. I've changed my rating to five stars even though it's caused a LOT of frustration and was not "out of the box ready".

Limited DLNA support May 11, 2010
Since other folks have already reviewed the picture quality I won't bother covering that again.
The main reason this TV caught my eye was the network support at this price.
The built in apps are useful. Especially the TV guide for cable. The the TV does not support
the switched broadcast natively used by some cable companies. For limited use it's fine.
What it really falls flat is in the DLNA support.
I have a PS3 which happily supports a range of native codecs and containers and several DLNA
and UPNP servers (PS3 media server, Mediatomb, MiniDLNA, Windows 7).
So far, this TV only seems to support MiniDLNA.
And it only supports MPEG2 as far as I can tell.
There's no mp4, xvid, avi or DIVX (all of which are supported by the PS3).
It's pretty frustrating to have a setup that works perfectly with one Sony product only to
have it not work at all with another product from the same company.
Sony needs to get it's product ranges unified in terms of the software.
The MPEG2 that it does play. Is acceptable. The "low" level of noise canceling was fine for
the ripped DVDs I played from my server. I use wired Ethernet and did not suffer stutters
or any dropout. (I didn't try the wifi dongle.)
So if you just have perfect VOB rips of your DVDs then this TV will play them.
Only other comment is that when you turn on the TV, it "boots" in the background. So
the channel shows regular TV but you cannot access the special functions for about a
minute until the backend boots up.
It's ok for the price. But if you plan to watch stuff you download from the Internet without
transcoding, this TV ain't gonna' work for you...
Update: May 20th 2010
PS3 media server now has a beta (v1.11.356) release that has some Bravia support.
It's Java based (so browsing is a little slow) but the transcoding does work using mencoder and tsmuxer.
In order to use it you need to create a renderer config file for the KDL-32EX308 renderer type. So there is now a transcoding option.

Awesome TV Set May 10, 2010
I wanted a new TV for my kitchen. Having recently signed up for HD cable, I wanted a good HDTV with streaming capability. This TV delivers.
CONNECTIVITY
It has all the standard RCA hookups plus four HDMI inputs as well as VGA and sound for a computer. To hook up to the internet, it has both Ethernet and comes with a Wi-Fi antenna. It streams Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Video on Demand, Pandora, half a dozen other services, and my favorite - Slacker radio.
VISUAL
The picture is clear and vivid. The new BRAVIA engine does an excellent job. I don't notice any lag in high speed movements. It's fun to watch the news in HD and admire all the freckles and wrinkles of the anchors.
SOUND
One beef I've always had with flat screen TVs is the poor sound. This problem is compounded by it being in the kitchen with hardwood floors. The sound on this unit is very good. I no longer have trouble understanding what people on TV are saying. The highs are clear and distinguishable. That said, there is no bass and you shouldn't expect it out of something so small.
If you want a 32" TV that has it all, you won't be sorry with this unit.

I purchased this set for a bedroom. It has a nice set of features, and probably does far more than is apparent considering the technology. The HD picture is great; the SD picture so-so. The instructions (or more precisely, the lack of instructions) are perhaps the most deficient I have ever encountered on an electronic product, including the poor translations found on some Chinese products. The written instructions provide very basic set up diagrams. The electronic instructions are so cumbersome as to be useless, and provide little real information. I have always purchased Sony products, but will probably never do so again unless the product comes with a far more comprehensive guide than this TV!

Consumer Reports Says: Buy HDTV at Amazon!
Washington, D.C. (July 2010) -- When it comes to price, Consumer Reports says shoppers are most likely to find the best deals online. And the publication called three ecommerce sites "standouts" in this year's Consumer Reports ratings of electronics stores: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com and B&H (bhphotovideo.com)
The magazine's survey was based on more than 38,000 purchases of electronics, including flat-screen TVs, between January 2009 and June 2010. The report indicated that online stores consistently offered better prices. (The magazine's full report can be found in its July 2010 issue.)
"Buying online can be better," the magazine said in a press release. "The higher-rated electronics retailers in Consumer Reports annual reader survey are Web sites. Readers who bought online rated their overall satisfaction at 90 out of 100 -- higher than those who bought in a store. Additionally, many Web merchants offer free shipping, even on TVs, which could spare the hassle of struggling to fit a bulky carton in the car or paying a local store for delivery."
Consumer Reports said that while no single retailer scored excellent in all shopping categories, Amazon.com came closest.
